You know what I find refreshing as a mother?.... truly enjoying the simple things. I'm talking about spending time at the library or playing with chalk on the driveway. There are so many special moments that aren't about "things" at all.
For instance, we love visiting the horse stables and alpaca farm at a college near our house. Usually we're the only ones there walking around....talking to the animals. It's fun to experience the animals through my daughter's eyes.

My daughter has such a kind heart. There was a horse in an enclosed area by itself with bandages on its face. I told her it had a boo boo and, when we went to leave, she insisted we go back and talk to that horse one more time.
I've noticed this about Ana. She is especially kind to the elderly and people with special needs. She always has a smile for them and will even reach out and hold their hands.
You really can learn so much from a child.
