This Will Make You Smile!

I came across this list online. It made me laugh.

Truths for Mature Humans:

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello" **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night, more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

21. Sometimes, I watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

22. I would rather try to carry ten overloaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say, "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty? Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber and dumber every year?

29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you're going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey, but I bet my *** everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!!

 Funny, right?

Beach or Bust!

This weekend my husband came into town and we spent some quality family time. The three of us headed to New Buffalo, Michigan Saturday.

It was baby's first time at a beach. She definitely is not a fan of the sand just yet, but she loved watching all the kids playing in the water.

We also stopped at Redamak's. It's the BEST place to get a cheeseburger!! I highly recommend it!

That face is priceless!

And here was our little angel exactly one minute after we got in the car to head home:

A great day had by all!

"I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

Fabric Circles

How cute are the fabric circles in this nursery!? I found this online awhile ago and had saved it in my "project ideas" folder.

What an easy way to add a punch of color and design to a plain space! I think this would be a quick and inexpensive project too - it looks like all you need is fabric and sewing hoops.

Here are some similar pictures I found online last night:

I also spotted them hanging in the display windows at Anthropologie a couple weeks ago:

P.S. It was a PAIN getting on Pinterest last night... I kept getting a note saying the server was too busy. I'm not liking this....

The Brow

Baby and I are still hanging out at my mom's house while she's recovering from surgery. My daughter has begun giving "the brow" as I like to call it. She makes a very serious face and brings her eyebrows very low over her eyes.

Here is my usually sweet baby:

Here is "the brow":

What warranted such a look you may ask..... I asked her if there was a kitten on tv - that's all! Yesterday, she gave it to a waitress who said "hi" to her. I told her she better grow out of this soon because one day her teachers are not going to put up with that look!

Here are some more pics from the last couple of days:

Taking my mom's dog for a walk in Ana's wagon
Ana LOVES this little dog - probably because it's more her size than our dog.

Rob actually turns 27 today. Happy Birthday to my baby brother!!

Friday Fashion File

When it's this hot and humid I find the easiest way to wear my hair is to braid it lauren conrad style...
It keeps it up and out of the way AND not looking so messy when it really REALLY wants to be exactly that - A MESS! (Plus, it's a nice change from the plain old ponytail!)

So now that I'm in "braid mode" thanks to this when-will-it-ever-end heat wave, I've really wanted to try something like this:

It's the fishtail braid and it's blowing up online. I found these pictures via pinterest. (of course) AND it just so happens that super-stylish Sheridan French at The Southern Eclectic posted a how-to video for the fishtail braid just this week!! Check it out here.

Now, if only my hair was longer...much longer.
P.S. Also spotted these on pinterest today:
I want NEED to have these shoes!!! The bad news - I have no idea where they came from. (There wasn't a source attached to this picture. boo.)

Happy Birthday Mom!

It's my mom's birthday...and she got to come home from the hospital today!! My mom had surgery Monday for colon cancer. It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks, but we're praying it's now gone. Something like this sure makes you think about things and how precious your time is with one another. My mom is the strongest, most loving woman I know. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and in my daughter's life too.

Here's to your birthday mom - and many more to follow. I love you, and I'm glad you're home.

Summer Fun

Ana is pretty content to do this all summer:

But wouldn't it be fun to do something like this when she's a little older:

Sarah's Sophisticated Nursery

I just got done watching Sarah 101 on HGTV. I heart this sophisticated boy's nursery:

Sarah Richardson is my favorite HGTV designer. She has such a talent for combining different colors and patterns perfectly. I also love how she re-purposes old furniture in her rooms.

I really love the art work in this nursery.

It's super easy to do on your own too. It's simply a set of art cards she had framed.

I also like the pom pom trim on the drapes.

I'm sure this won't be my last Sarah post. I always find inspiration in her designs.
