On Motherhood Inspired I try to show those things that have inspired me since becoming a mom. This is why I wanted to share Heather Von St. James' story with you.
Heather reached out to me through an email. Her story is one of courage and survival and it started when her baby was just 3 1/2 months old. That's when Heather was diagnosed with Mesothelioma - a type of cancer that kills 90-95% of those who have it.
One of Heather's first thoughts upon being diagnosed - that she wouldn't be able to watch her baby grow up. What a terrifying thought for any mother!
But Heather fought, and six years later she's here and cancer free! Heather said it best in her email: "I'd like to turn my pain into purpose and become someone that other parents can look to for guidance, inspiration, and hope in situations like my own."
