Still Around

I know I've been so bad about blogging. I blame the pregnancy. (Truth be told: these days free time means nap time.) Anyway, I thought I'd share a little photo summary of what's been keeping us busy:

We're loving the early summer weather and spending a lot of time outside. One morning we took Ana to a local college where the nuns raise alpacas and horses:

(See that belly: only 8 more weeks to go!)

I made what my husband calls "one of the best meals he's ever eaten." It's the Cajun Chicken Pasta on the Lighter Side from skinnytaste.com. (BTW, I'm obsessed with this site right now.)

You know that point in pregnancy when non-maternity clothes look so great and you just want to buy!? I'm there. I'm itching to shop for clothes with actual waistlines!! Here are two cute spring outfits I'm dreaming about:

And the big highlight of our week: Getting this pic from my mother-in-law:

Yes, that's Mr. George Clooney. My husband's mom and dad met him while attending the State Dinner. (We were also excited to watch their arrival to the dinner on C-SPAN.)

Restoration Hardware

If I had an unlimited budget I think I'd go crazy at Restoration Hardware Baby & Child.....

I don't ever remember them having such cool stuff for kids!

Stroller for Two

I've started the search for a double stroller. Have you looked at double strollers lately? They are CRAZY! I'm being serious here - you practically need a drivers license for some of these bad boys.

Hello... it has a steering wheel!!! I mean, I love the single Peg Perego I have right now - but I'm not ready for one this big.

I've also heard from more than one parent that the side-by-side models are hard to get down store aisles. I can see that - I already have an issue with my single stroller in stores like Gymboree.

With all that being said, so far this one tops my list:

It's the Baby Jogger City Select. I tried it out at BuyBuy Baby last weekend and it's compact, lightweight and really easy to maneuver. I like that there are so many different options when it comes to seat configurations. I don't like the price tag though - $500 NOT including the second seat and any other accessories. Ouch!

I still have about 2 1/2 months left until I need to buy. Any words of wisdom on this issue?

Nail Pop

Here's my favorite nail polish duo right now:

The color is a little brighter than I normally chose but I think appropriate for this time of year. It seems to remind me that the warm weather will return.

On an unrelated note: Miss Independent here is going through the "I love to put on mommy's shoes" phase. It's pretty cute:

The paci has got to go though. I want to make sure she's completely over it by the time the new baby arrives so we don't have an issue when she sees her baby sister sucking on one. Any suggestions on how to get through this quick and easy?

Mirror Mirror

My mom had this mirror hanging in her foyer, which really surprised me because it's so not her style.

Well, the last time I was home I convinced her to let me take it... and transform it. (She just doesn't know about the "transform" part.)

I was able to take out the mirror in the back and then just gave the frame a couple coats of white glossy paint using this:

This paint gave great coverage and the end result feels really nice and smooth. I didn't both priming or sanding.

I really wanted to go bold with the color, but just couldn't figure out where to put a bold color right now in our house. Honestly though, this was so easy to paint, I figure I can change up the color when we move... one of these days... hopefully soon.

Here's some inspiration:

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you!!

I put together a little bucket of goodies for Ana on this Valentine's... just things I picked up in the dollar section of Target and Walmart that I knew she would love.

We also made special cupcakes to send to my husband's work.

The end result may not have been the most beautiful cupcakes - but they were made with a lot of love (and tasted really good) and that's what matters.

I hope you get to spend some time today with someone you love.
