Gender Reveal Desserts

We had our ultrasound today, and I'm happy to report everything looked great. I was hoping to find out if we are having a baby boy or girl - but the nurse couldn't tell! Our little one was not very cooperative! The nurse thought girl but then said she just doesn't know at this point.

I had been hoping to do something fun like a gender reveal dessert with our family.

Have you heard of this? You have a bakery fill the inside of a cake or cupcake with blue or pink to reveal what you're having.

Then it's one big surprise and everyone finds out together whether it's a boy or girl. I think it sounds like a lot of fun!

Babble
Our doctor said she'll take a peak at our next appointment to see whether this little babe is a boy or girl. I feel like it's a girl - does that count?

A Christmas Display... Missed!

All ready and so excited to head to downtown Indianapolis to see the Circle of Lights Christmas display:

We would have gotten out of the car to enjoy the decorations....

BUT, here's the reason we went in the first place:

Yep - sound asleep! She missed the whole thing. I swear, she was excited just 5 minutes before this was taken.

Maybe next year!

Displaying Kid Art

My daughter is pretty serious when it comes to her art:

I already see a lot of "masterpieces" in our future that will need to be hung up in the house!

Here are some creative and oh so stylish ways to display child artwork:

I think it's key to make sure it's easy to change out the artwork. I really like the second one. (from the blog "I Heart Organizing") If you click on the link, it will connect you to the site where you'll find step by step directions on how to make those adorable display frames.

Holiday Decor Ideas

I need to get going on my Christmas decor! The tree is still in the garage, the decorations are in a box in my mom's basement and the wreath is wrapped in plastic under one of the beds.

I did, however, clean off the mantel and the dresser in the family room to make way for Christmas stuff...... that's progress, right?

Anyway, there's a great holiday link party going on in the blogosphere right now that I wanted to share with you. It's sure to be a great resource for ideas as you get ready for the holidays.

Click here and it will take you to a post with each blogger's link.

We Are Thankful

.... for the brand new arrival we're expecting in May. We're having a baby! And don't worry, we won't be naming him or her "A-Da" which is what this little one suggests every time we ask her!

This is an outtake from our Christmas card photo shoot this weekend. She's such a ham.... I mean, seriously, this girl LOVES an audience.

By the way, I'm so excited to show you our Christmas card. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I don't want to give the goods away before I send them out, so you'll have to wait until closer to Christmas to see it.

How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was nice. I've been feeling so sick - (I'm talking 24/7 morning sickness for the last two months, which explains my absence.) but I was able to enjoy dinner on Thanksgiving.

Don't let that smile fool you. This is what Ana really thought of Thanksgiving dinner:

When did she become a picky eater?! (And yes, she did eat without clothes on. All I can say is her clothes ended up in the wash much earlier in the day than expected. Things never go as planned with a one year old!)

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving weekend too.... and aren't yet overwhelmed by all the things that need to get done before Christmas!!
